Tuktuk driver with TB

Posted on 12.11.19 by Ron van Zeeland

This week we helped a 42-year-old tuktuk driver who needed urgently hospitalization because he was seriously ill with TB.

From sex worker to tuktuk driver

Untenu received a request for emergency aid for the 42-year-old T. S. this week. Prompt action was required because it didn’t look good to him. He has only been taking HIV medication for six months because he was hiding his HIV status untill then.

T.S. was a sex worker when he was young, but as the years progressed he had to look for other work.

HIV & TB

His current condition was so bad because he also contracted TB (tuberculosis).

We payed for his treatment in hospital, food aid. We also paid one month rent of his room, so he has some time to strengthen. We hope that his treatment works.

We still need money for emergencies
